A stroll along the Sliema promenade can be an unsettling experience. While the aura of exclusivity persists, the instinctive search for a visual anchor is frustrated by the absence of architectural rhythm and harmony. So it is with some relief that one turns inward to rediscover the quiet elegance that once defined the character of the area fondly known as “the Sliema front”.
Across from the road from the historic stone tower that gave the street its name, a slice of the corner Seacliff development has recaptured that sense of discreet style. The well-appointed interior of the 4-bedroom corner seafront apartment in a design by DAAA Haus, seamlessly marries opulence with contemporary functionality, exuding an air of refined elegance.
The internal layout was altered and now includes a private lift lobby entrance, which sets a tone of exclusivity. Upon entry, a large hall with a picture panoramic window frames the view of the Dragonara peninsula, inviting the beauty of the outdoors inside. The open space TV/living and dining area seamlessly transitions into a reading lounge and a separate bar and entertainment wine lounge, creating a harmonious flow, and opens out onto a large terrace where the sea breeze and views can be enjoyed in complete privacy.
The design throughout is a testament to the quality of skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. Bespoke boiserie in a subtle and sophisticated matt limed finish adorns the walls, creating an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication. Throughout the space bespoke marble works elevate the aesthetic, complemented by the warmth of real wood flooring that lends a sense of natural beauty to the living spaces.

New and old, light and dark, stone and metals: Theatre Next Door is a project full of contrasts, capable of making a monumental space a cultural space. The theater designed by DAAA Haus is located in Maghtab, on the island of Malta.
It is curious how an old pig farm can be transformed into a theatre while respecting the original structures by juxtaposing the limestone parts with new concrete and metal parts. The four-level Theatre Next Door welcomes visitors on the ground fl oor with a bright foyer featuring a large block of natural hard stone from Maghtab, the village where the theatre is located. A wooden insert cutting through the stone forms the reception desk, the heart of the foyer. From here one reaches the cafeteria and recreation area, where limestone openings have been highlighted with rough Corten steel sheet. These areas are adorned with original theatrical artwork, memorabilia, and a Flos chandelier. At the back of the ground floor is the first of the three multipurpose studios of this performance envelope (the other two are on the second and third floors). The first floor houses one of the bright administrative offices and a corridor leading to the high-tech black box theatre, which, like all of the theatres of this kind, is characterized by a simple space, a black box that allows the actors, costumes, and lights to stand out. Theatre Next Door alternates dark and bright environments, where one can recognize the typical Mediterranean light, enhanced by the use of materials such as stone and wood or channeled through perforated skylights as in thecase of the interior landings. The different levels are connected at the back by a large white metal spiral staircase that, like other areas of the theatre, highlights the material contrast with the limestone façade.

Una ricerca che è stata fondamentale per apprendere alcuni elementi chiave del Paese e farli rivivere negli interior di Trishna, un recentissimo ristorante indiano che offre una vera experience e cibo tradizionale rivisitato in chiave moderna.

Fonte di ispirazione è stata anche Goa sulla costa sud occidentale dell’India, famosa per le sue spiagge bianche, le foresta, la natura selvaggia. Ed è in particolare questo aspetto della natura che lo studio DAAA Haus ha voluto interpretare e portare all’interno dei ristorante, scandito nei tre spazi principali da una pioggia di piante verdi, illuminate da lampade rivestite in vimini, e con richiami continui al mondo floreale.
