Portomaso Apt 51

With complete freedom given by the client, this project was a call to reflect on the frenetic life we all were used to before COVID-19 hit us. We imagined WABI – SABI experience type of house for a modern busy family. A minimal, serene and spiritual approach was adopted when finishing this apartment. Open, bright & minimal spaces allude to a pure less materialistic environment. Our goal was to create a nature-based aesthetic paradigm suggesting a true sense of the art of living. To go back to a more contemplative way of living, to stop in time and space from this hyperactive 21st century. The continuous wall claddings, calming off-white colours and natural wood flooring all made from the highest eco-friendly paints and materials. Working with geometry was important to make people feel this harmonious experience. When people enter the space, they immediately feel a sense of tranquility . The supersized geometric circular mirror lining the wall in the hallway floats in a perfect soft contrast with all the straight monochromatic lines. All the spaces from the living room to kitchen, dining room and 3 bedrooms are in the shades of the same colour including bespoke furniture, doors and walls and are at the same height to give a sense of continuity. Contrasting clean crisp black lines give evidence to all the functions. For us, this is a very important premise, the accuracy of lines were able to give us a greater sense of harmony and peace of mind. Brands Used in this project include; Bonaldo SPA, Pianca, Jesse Italia in the bedrooms, Modulnova cucina in Kitchen, Pianca, Cattelan Italia, Jesse Italia, Veneta cuscini SRL & Riflessi in living dining area. Carpets by Tisca Italia, lights by ; Delta, Flos, Vibia, Menu, OTY light and Davide Groppi, whilst outdoor furniture by Atmosphera and Capital.
